Random Hemp Products to Replace Non-Biodegradable Products
Being lost for several decades due to government policies and law finally, hemp is back with its all potential that has been overlooked and misinterpreted all the time. In 2018 President Trump signed the Farm Bill and since it is legal to grow industrial hemp and with this, it is expected to observe growth in the economy overall. Besides the United States of America, there are other nations as well that are now having a positive outlook towards the industrialisation of hemp and increasing its productivity.
The use of hemp in human civilisation can be traced back ten thousand years ago in China and then spread all over the world. Hemp has many advantages when it comes to industrialisation and the ability to maintain the overall Eco-system and control over pollution is noteworthy. It is estimated that around 25000 different applications can be made using the plant and in most of the cases we can use hemp to replace the use of chemical plastic. In this article, we are not going to discuss all the applications because that would almost take days to write and read. However, we are going to discuss a few of them to understand hemp and its productivity that has been underestimated all these years.
Fuel - it is a known fact that fuel is crucial for the globe to run on its pace and for this, we have been using fossil fuel since our day one. However, the use of fossil fuel has always been considered unhealthy because they are neither replaceable nor renewable. The use of hemp for producing fuel is one best way to stop the usages of these valuable natural resources. Depending on the production process we can generally have two types of fuel methanol/ethanol and biodiesel which in any case is the best option for the replacement of traditional fuel and equally help us protect our environment.
Carpet - the normal carpet that we use in our daily life contains harmful chemicals and increases the chances of allergens, debris. However, carpet made from the hemp is found to reduce the indoor pollution and still very environment-friendly because they are completely biodegradable and Eco-friendly.
Batteries - Did you know that the cost of making a hemp-based batteries costs 1000% compared to the normal battery we use in our daily life? Hemp batteries can store energies even more effectively than the normal one. The Nano-layers that are obtained from the hemp under laboratory are extremely heated resistant and cheap in production that comes with higher energy density when compared to normal carbon batteries. A hemp battery can be recharged 100 times in a few minutes as well.
Plastic - Plastic made out of hemp is generally stronger and stiffer compared to normal polypropylene plastic. From environmental and health perspective it is healthier to use because it lacks the toxic that our normal plastic emits. A hemp plastic usually takes 6 to 8 months to biodegrade completely. Similarly, it can also be made stronger than steel when required as in the case of Henry Ford the hemp plastic is 10 times stronger than steel and with reference to the Canadian research team's result it is also seen that hemp based graphene can be way cheaper than carbon fibre making it 300 times stronger than normal steel.
Paper - Another amazing thing about hemp is the production of paper. Hemp papers are at least 6 to 8 times recyclable and in an acre of land in a year we can farm hemp twice yielding the same amount fibre needed to make papers that when compared to the trees in an acre of land will not only take 20 years but has a low percentage of recyclable possibilities. If paper production is diverted to hemp from tree than the 15 billion trees that are cut down each year for paper production can become zero.
Hemp is an amazing gift from nature and in today's world, this gift is needed its most use in any area of life. With all the pollution and plastic issues, soil degradation and deforestation hemp can be the only solution giving us the freedom of development, economic growth, and better earth.
